Hudson Valley Landscapes by Milton Glaser

I am delighted to announce that I am booking the 2018-2020 tour for this extraordinary exhibition of Milton Glaser’s latest works — a series of remarkable Hudson Valley landscapes. There are 48 landscape prints and five portraits of artists including Monet, whose influence is evident in these works.

Milton’s fifty years of design and illustration earned him the recognition of the President. Milton was awarded the National Medal for the Arts in 2009 for his profound influence on American culture.

Milton has been making prints for many years but never so prolifically as now. Captivated by the infinite layering of texture and pattern that the computer enables, he is exploring how deeply one can work into a print. Having always loved Milton’s trees, I think these works are among his most exquisite.

Contact me at katja(at)designagility.us or on the number above, if you are a museum or gallery interested in exhibiting this extraordinary series of landscapes after it leaves the Edward Hopper House on November 4th, 2018.

Milton Glaser’s posters—more than 450 since 1965—combine conceptual rigor and originality with a mastery of visual language and artistic expression. Some, like his 1967 Bob Dylan poster for Columbia Records, are icons; others, like his series celebrating “I Love New York,” evoke his best-known work. Milton Glaser Posters includes them all, with Glaser’s own commentary describing his thought process and inspiration. The book is a delight for the art lover, an education in visual expression, and an entertaining journey through the cultural life of half a century, all rolled into a single compact, intense volume.

An exhibition of 150 of his most famous (and some of his rarest) posters is now touring. Please contact me if you are interested in showing this exhibition at your museum or art Gallery. The posters are mostly 24″ by 36″ so this exhibition needs considerable space even if the posters are exhibited French salon style.

MAAS READ & RECOMMENDED

This is the first book I ever did with Milton Glaser. It’s a gem of a book featuring his work from 1974 to round 2000. It picks up where his first book called Graphic Design left off. Many of the project we worked on together are in the book so holds many special memories for me. It is jam packed with his ingenious though processes and insights – I’d recommend it to anyone visual or in communications.  BUY BOOK

Art Is Work by Milton Glaser

This next book, The Alphazeds was written by Shirley, Milton’s wife. Its as clever an idea as any of Aesops fables and perhaps one day will reach as far. Its the perfect story about community and the limitless possibilities of a team working together. I love it! Every kid should read it when they learn to read…
